When I went to The Institute for Computer Studies (now a defunct arm of CDI Computer College ebcause they killed it with incompetence, but I digress) back in 1995 for my programming course, one of the things we did was watch a video that starred John Cleese. Essentially, "Meetings, Bloody Meetings!", was a hilariously instructional series on just how to and NOT to run meetings. The one I remember the most is the meeting that had everyone attend and no one knew who called the meeting or why it was called. The other one that stands out is the meeting to discuss what woudl be discussed in the next scheduled meeting. Basically, it showed why most meetings were unnecessary and simply called to help someone feel important. The follow Dilbert illustrates this brilliantly.
