Hmmm, so it seems that hell can indeed freeze over. Somehow Phil and Kobe have agreed to work together for the next three years. Phil needs another championship to pass Red Auerbach for the all time number of wins by a coach (nine). I am sure the rumoured ten million a year he will be earning does not hurt either.
The Lakers needed to get a proper coach in place so that the focus was back on the players and the spotlight could shine upon those not producing. They need to make some changes and some moves because he will be stuck at nine rings with this current motley crew. Let's face it, having a shaw or a Tim Duncan is not enough to win, as Miami found out. The problem is that they have less than what they need before adding that impact center so they start disadvantaged to begin with.
It will be interesting times ahead. No matter what though, it is nice to see Phil back at the helm. Even if it is with the (ack!) Los Angeles Lakers.
