WTF is wrong with people today?

Below is a copy and paste of an email I receive daily now. Call it a strange obsession, call it odd or simply call it wanting to be more informed than the hunt and peck style of reporting that typical media delivers to us. There is a lot more shit going on in this city than people realize and I know for a fact (due to select sources) that these bulletins are still only a tenth of what goes on everyday. If you are interested in what happens daily in the t-dot, leave a comment and I will post the link where you can subscribe to get it.

For now, read this story and tell me how they were pulling me off of him as I beat his dumb, sick ass into a pulp. Parents, get a grip and ensure your kids know the rules AND follows them. And enough with leaving them to their own devices. You are not being nosy, you are being a parent. It's your job and your responsibility until, as you taught them, they can do it on their own.

And if TC is reading this, know that until you turn of age (32?), your mum and I will be on your ass to ensure that no one else is. Capische? Good!

The Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes Unit would like to thank The Eaton’s Centre Security staff for their assistance in the investigation and identification of a man alleged to have committed sexual assault.

On Friday, June 24, 2005, an 11-year-old boy was in the company of an adult friend and his older sibling at the Eaton’s Centre for a publicity event.

It is alleged that:

-the 11 year-old-boy was standing in line for an event and was befriended by a man who engaged him in conversation,
-the adult friend left the line for a short period of time to purchase a disposable camera and reminded the children not to speak with strangers,
-the boy needed to use the washroom but didn’t want to lose his place in line,
-the man offered to escort the boy to the washrooms,
-while in the washroom the man sexually assaulted the boy.

On Tuesday, June 28, 2005, Theodore Beckford, 18, was arrested as a result of investigation and with corporate partnership assistance. Beckford is charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation.

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, 60 Queen Street West, room 101 at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, June 29, 2005.

The Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit, in partnership with Eaton’s Centre security staff, is asking for the public’s assistance in providing any information that they may have regarding the offence.

We would like to remind the community to be ever diligent in taking safety precautions at all times and locations with their children. A person is still a stranger even after just meeting them and you should not attend any location alone with them.

Constable Wendy Drummond, Corporate Communications, for Acting Staff Inspector Gordon Whealy, Sex Crimes Unit
