When will people learn?

This is a very sad story but it is a hard lesson learned. The law requiring the use of seatbelts was put into place for a simple reason; to protect the lives of those travelling in motorized vehicles. Why do people insist on not following this simple, yet life-saving, rule? Surely it is not fashion? Is it comfort? Buy a seatbelt cushion.

There is simply no excuse for anyone to not wear a seatbelt. I am of a more rotund shape so even though I can fit fairly fine in most seats, sometimes a little more belt would make things comfortble. The Roo did come with a seatbelt extender as part of the standard equipment. This is simply, as the name suggests, another short belt that the existing belt snaps into to give a more comfortable, but still safe and secure, connection in the truck. Check this story on the very topic of seatbelt extenders.

So, for the rest of the so-called "normal" folk, what is your idiotic excuse for not wearing one? Too hot? Too itchy? Too inconvienient? Is dying more convenient for you? I am not overstating this or tring to be over sensational about this. Sometimes you have to be frank and direct to get someone's attention.

The attention was focused in all the people that witnessed this accident on the 401, stopped to help try and lift the vehicle off the girl, only to see their efforts is for naught as her life started to drain out onto the highway beneath them. graphic? Damn skippy, because on then do people realize this shit is for real. How about the three women, all dead and the other passengers seriously hurt when ejected from the vehicle (all seven were killed or hurt seriously but the middle two who were smart enough to wear their belt) when their minivan suddenly veered off the highway and rolled into a ditch?

Seatbelts saves lives people. If you need an extender, go to your manufacturer and demand one. If they do nto have it, do the research on the Internet and FIND one as soon as possible. Can you honestly tell your family that your life is not worth fifty bucks? Is that fair to even try to tell them that? I didn't think so.

Peace!
