The Lessons of the $100 Laptop

Is anyone surprised that Bill Gates, his evil highness incarnate, would have criticism about a project that would help educate the poor? Oh, by all means point out all the charity Mr. Gates has shown and the philanthropy he has performed; kudos all around. But, he is making public critcisms when he could have told these things directly to the man in charge that he supposedly is working with to make a Windows CE version of this inexpensive laptop available. Nope, instead, he chooses to air his complain in a public forum due to the inclusion of Linux over Windows as the OS of choice for this worldwide project.

Does his ego really need to be stroked that much? Shouldn't he get a better trophy wife if he is not getting enough stroking at home? Does the project not mean more than what publicity and future sales your company can reap from it? Shame on you Bill, shame!

Ciao.
